The legendary Circuit Zandvoort, globally renowned for its rich history and the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix, is currently undergoing a substantial transformation in preparation for the 2024 Formula 1 race. In this article, we will bring you up to speed on the changes.
One of the most noteworthy developments is the extension of the pit lane and the expansion of the number of pit boxes. These have been designed not only to meet the demanding quality standards of the FIA but also to bring about a change in the dynamics of the circuit.
All year round functionality Pit boxes
These significant changes are not limited to race periods alone. The building housing the new pit boxes is undergoing a transformation and expansion into a multifunctional space utilized throughout the year for various purposes. During the Dutch Grand Prix, it serves as six state-of-the-art pit boxes, but for the rest of the year, it functions as a hospitality lounge for various events, such as conferences, seminars, and corporate parties, with a capacity of up to 650 people.
Bernie’s Bar & Kitchen en race café Mickey’s Bar
Bernie’s Bar & Kitchen and race café Mickey’s Bar are also part of the expansion plans. This expansion not only provides more capacity for culinary experiences or plenary sessions, but the new design also includes a spectacular rooftop terrace with breathtaking panoramic views. An enchanting place for both racing enthusiasts and guests attending business meetings, receptions, and events.
In addition to Bernie’s renewal, Mickey’s Bar, located adjacent to the renovated pit boxes, is also undergoing a complete renovation. The cozy atmosphere of the race café will be preserved in the ambiance of a traditional pub with a modern touch, seamlessly aligning with the dynamics of the pit lane and its surroundings.
