Royal Delft and the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix offer Isack Hadjar a new trophy.
Isack Hadjar unhappily broke his trophy last Sunday during the well-known team celebrations at Zandvoort. The Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix and Royal Delft took immediate action and presented a new trophy to the young driver. The broken version gets to keep the young driver from Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, as an extra special memento of his historic first podium.
In collaboration with Studio Piet Boon, Royal Delft manufactured the official trophies for the Dutch Grand Prix for the third year in a row. The organization wanted impressive trophies linking iconic Dutch craftsmanship to Formula 1 in the Netherlands. Royal Delft, founded in 1653, designed and decorated the trophies in their iconic Delft Blue style. For example, this year the Dutch Grand Prix presented trophies that are truly symbolic of the Netherlands.
Ceramic is a beautiful but also fragile material: it can break if exposed to unexpected vibrations. The trophy was probably just placed at the wrong angle, causing uneven pressure distribution and creating stress points that could cause the ceramic to break.
In such an important project, we always provide unpainted spare models. We gave extra priority to this one in our production process. Thanks to the design of the No. 3 trophy with a quick action-paint decoration and the craftsmanship and dedication of our artisans, we were able to deliver this trophy at the Italian Grand Prix exceptionally quickly,” said Joffrey Walonker, Design Manager at Royal Delft.
