Circuit Zandvoort receives highest FIA sustainability accreditation

MASCOT Circuit Zandvoort has been awarded the highest environmental recognition from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile: the FIA Environmental Accreditation Three-Star rating.

This certification confirms that both sporting and business events at the circuit are organised within a professional and demonstrably sustainable framework.

Highest level within FIA programme

The Three-Star rating represents the highest level in the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme and is only awarded to organisations with a mature and effective environmental management system.

The accreditation follows an independent on-site audit assessing all activities at the circuit — from international race weekends and corporate events to maintenance and daily operations.

Operating sustainably in a unique environment

Located within a sensitive dune landscape, Circuit Zandvoort operates under strict Dutch and European environmental regulations. This requires a structured approach to energy consumption, emissions, waste management, water usage and nature conservation.

The audit confirmed that the circuit meets all relevant environmental permits and requirements while actively monitoring and improving its environmental performance. Sustainability is therefore embedded within the organisation rather than treated as a standalone ambition.

Continuous improvement

To further reduce its environmental impact, Circuit Zandvoort continuously measures and optimises energy and waste streams. Investments include solar energy installations, energy-efficient lighting, digital waste monitoring systems and a fully electric internal vehicle fleet.

Additional measures are in place to protect soil and water quality while supporting biodiversity within the surrounding dune ecosystem.
