André Rieu and DJ La Fuente will perform together in the Pre Race show at a sold-out CM.com Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday, August 27. André Rieu and DJ La Fuente will perform together in the Pre Race show at a sold-out CM.com Circuit Zandvoort. During the show, Rieu will play the Dutch national anthem, the Wilhelmus, in an impressive and emotional rendition with his Johann Strauss Orchestra and all his world-famous soloists.
Tradition
The Pre Race Show and the performance of the national anthem before the Dutch Grand Prix were provided two years ago upon the return of F1 to Zandvoort by Davina Michelle and Armin van Buren. Last year, Floor Jansen and Afrojack had the honor.
In both cases, this performance was supported by tens of thousands of singing fans in the main stands, waving red, white, and blue flags, creating a beautiful backdrop that millions of TV viewers worldwide enjoyed. This year, the honor goes to André Rieu and La Fuente. Rieu, who has a strong affinity for sports in general and F1 in particular, has successfully performed before the start of major sports events on several occasions. As a Limburg native, André Rieu is, of course, a big fan of Max Verstappen.
“The Johann Strauss Orchestra can’t wait!”
“I have been following Max for years, and when I was asked to perform with my orchestra before the start of the F1 race in Zandvoort, I was immediately thrilled. All the members of my orchestra are excited too! Together with DJ La Fuente, we will create a spectacular show for viewers worldwide,” says Rieu.
DJ La Fuente is returning to Zandvoort after the success of the Full Throttle Show in 2022. In the arena with 40,000 fans, La Fuente led an overwhelming show in 2022, and the song “I Want You” became a major hit.
La Fuente said, “It was one of the highlights of last year; my performance on Saturday in the Dutch Grand Prix Arena. The atmosphere, the audience, the dancers on stage, the drifters, and the enthusiastic marshals along the track, everything was perfect. It was an amazing show. This year, together with Rieu and his orchestra, we will rock the entire circuit! I’m really looking forward to giving the world of F1 a cheerful touch in our own way.”
