Duncan Laurence, the internationally acclaimed Dutch singer and winner of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, will perform the national anthem just before the start of the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2024 on Sunday, August 25. Following in the footsteps of previous iconic performances by André Rieu, Floor Jansen, and Davina Michelle, Laurence will deliver a special rendition of the national anthem before an audience of millions, playing on on his own piano on the starting grid. The entire track will be adorned in red, white, and blue, marking the largest flag display in Dutch sports history.
Laurence eagerly anticipates this opportunity to perform on such a prestigious global stage. “It’s an enormous honor to sing the Dutch anthem during the Dutch Grand Prix,” said Laurence. “This is a moment of immense national pride, and I’m genuinely excited to share it with the world.” He will bring his own piano to deliver his signature style of the “Wilhelmus.”

Since its much-anticipated return to the iconic Circuit Zandvoort in 2021, the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix has become a cherished event for racing enthusiasts worldwide. With Duncan Laurence, another international star from Dutch soil will take center stage to perform the national anthem, following renowned artists like Davina Michelle, Floor Jansen, and André Rieu, who have previously honored this tradition.
New Single Release
In addition to his Grand Prix performance, Duncan Laurence is set to release a new single, “Feel Your Love (Rapture),” in collaboration with Indian music superstars Tanishk Bagchi and Ganesh Waghela. This exciting fusion of Western and Indian musical talent is highly anticipated, with the single scheduled for release on August 23, adding even more excitement to Laurence’s appearance at the event.
